Week 3: GPAC Cross Country Runners of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week for September 11-17, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the Week
Women – Kylahn Freiberg, Concordia University
Kylahn Freiberg of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Freiberg, a senior from Nampa, Idaho, placed as the top GPAC finisher at the Greeno/Dirksen Invite while crossing the finish line in 18:22.37 (5k). Freiberg placed 15th overall in the Gold Division of the meet, which included NCAA Division II and III, NAIA and JUCO competitors. As a team, 23rd-ranked Concordia placed fifth out of 20 squads.
Men – Calvin Rohde, Concordia University
Calvin Rohde of Concordia University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Rohde, a senior from Reed City, Michigan, ran an 8k time of 25:54.88 at the Greeno/Dirksen Invite and placed 43rd overall in the Gold Division. Rohde was the top GPAC finisher in the meet and helped the Bulldogs place eighth out of 24 teams in a field featuring athletes from the NAIA, NCAA Division II and III and JUCOs.
