Week 9: GPAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played October 14-20, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week

Attacker – Jazlin Douma, Northwestern College (Outside)

Jazlin Douma of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Douma, a senior, from Orange City, Iowa, totaled 37 kills for an average of 5.29 per set in Northwestern's wins over Morningside and No. 18 Midland. She hit a blistering .368 in two matches, also digging up 14 attempts and notching six blocks.

Setter- Kayleigh Hybertson, Dakota Wesleyan University

Kayleigh Hybertson of Dakota Wesleyan University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Hybertson, a sophomore from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, led the Tigers to a perfect week as she posted 73 assists on the week, including 40 in a sweep of the College of Saint Mary. She averaged12.17 assists per set. She also added 15 digs, seven kills and three blocks for the Tigers.

Defender – Zavyr Metzger, Northwestern College (Middle)

Northwestern College middle Zavyr Metzger is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Metzger, a junior, from Larchwood, Iowa, was dominate in the middle with 16 blocks for 2.29 blocks per set in Northwestern's 2-0 slate. She had eight blocks in each match, also adding four kills. She is currently averaging an NAIA-best 1.95 blocks per set.
