Week 8: GPAC Volleyball Players of the Week

Attacker – Majesta Valasek, Hastings College (Outside)
Majesta Valasek of Hastings College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Valasek, a senior, from Broken Bow, Nebraska, totaled 36 kills for the week, averaging 4.50 kills per set. She had 23 kills with a .365 hitting percentage in their five-set win over Dakota Wesleyan. For the week, she also had 12 digs, six blocks, and one assist.
Setter- Alexis Pontine, Hastings College
Alexis Pontine of Hastings College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Pontine, a junior from Ignacio, Colorado, led the Broncos to a 2-0 week as she posted 64 assists in their five-set win over Dakota Wesleyan, averaging 12.80 assists per set. She followed that up with 44 assists, good for 14.67 assists per set, in their 3-0 win over Waldorf. For the week Pontine had 108 assists by averaging 13.50 assists per set, 24 digs, and 3 kills.
Defender – Miriam Miller, Hastings College (Defensive Specialist)
Hastings College defensive specialist Miriam Miller is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Miller, a senior, from Lincoln, Nebraska, moved into fifth place on the all-time digs list in school history on Saturday, as she finished the 3-0 win over Waldorf with 28 digs by averaging 9.33 digs per set. In the five-set win over Dakota Wesleyan with 35 digs with 7.00 digs per set. For the week Miller totaled 63 digs for an average of 7.88 digs per set, 8 assists, and 2 service aces.
