Week 9: GPAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played October 16-22, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Azaria Green, College of Saint Mary (Middle)
Azaria Green of the College of Saint Mary is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Green, a freshman from Council Bluffs, Iowa, notched 23 kills and 8 blocks on the week to lead the Flames to a pair of victories. She hammered home 18 kills and hit .516 in a win over top-ranked Concordia, 3-1.
Setter – Aleksandra Dalach, Morningside University
Aleksandra Dalach of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Dalach, a freshman from Opacz-Kolonia, Poland, averaged 15.67 assists per set against conference opponents this week and 14.44 assists per set overall. She recorded 130 total assists in nine sets. Her 47-assist effort against Dakota Wesleyan ranks second for Morningside in the current scoring era.
Defender – Payton Shoquist, Morningside University (Defensive Specialist)
Morningside's Payton Shoquist is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Shoquist, a senior from Mansfield, Texas, led Morningside defensively last week, recording 59 digs and averaging 6.56 digs per set across the week's nine sets. Shoquist averaged 7.67 digs per set against Buena Vista and 6.33 in the week's conference match against Dakota Wesleyan.
