Week 8: GPAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played October 9-15, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Jazlin De Haan, Northwestern College (Outside)
Northwestern's Jazlin De Haan is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. De Haan, a junior from Orange City, Iowa, was dominate in the two home sweeps for Northwestern this week, including the 3-0 win over top-ranked Concordia. She notched 31 kills and put down 5.17 kills per set, while also contributing 3.5 digs per set and two blocks. In a win over Morningside, she had 18 kills (6.00 per set) and had a match-high 13 kills (4.33 per set) in the top-five clash with Concordia.
Setter – Kayleigh Hybertson, Dakota Wesleyan University
Kayleigh Hybertson of Dakota Wesleyan University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Hybertson, a freshman from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, averaged 12 assists per set last week. She dished out 35 or more assists in each of the Tigers straight set wins. She also added 13 digs, three kills and a pair of blocks.
Defender – Ellie Holen, University of Jamestown (Defensive Specialist)
Jamestown's Ellie Holen is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Holen, a senior from LaMoure, North Dakota, averaged just shy of 10 digs per set as the 12th-ranked Jimmies split a pair of matches last week. She had 32 digs and five assists in a four-set win over No. 9 College of Saint Mary, while earlier in the week posted 37 digs in a loss to (RV) Valley City State.
