Week 5: GPAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played September 18-24, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Jazlin De Haan, Northwestern College (Outside)
Northwestern's Jazlin De Haan is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. De Haan, a junior from Orange City, Iowa, tallied 29 kills in just six sets as the Red Raiders picked up two road sweeps over Morningside and #13 Midland. She averaged 4.83 kills per set to lead the Red Raider attack and also contributed 21 digs and eight blocks as Northwestern improved to 5-1 in GPAC play.
Setter – Makenna Asher, Hastings College
Makenna Asher of Hastings College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Asher, a senior from Hastings, Nebraska, averaged 11.71 assists per set in helping Hastings win its first two conference games last week. In all she had 82 assists and also picked up 11 kills while hitting .348 in the victories.
Defender – Macay Van't Hul, Northwestern College (Middle)
Northwestern middle Macay Van't Hul is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Van't Hul, a junior from Rock Valley, Iowa, recorded 14 blocks in the two Red Raider GPAC road sweeps, averaging an impressive 2.33 blocks per set. Furthermore, her 13 blocks against #13 Midland tied the Northwestern school record for blocks in a single match by an individual.
