Week 3: GPAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played September 4-10, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Ady Dwight, Dakota Wesleyan University (Middle)
Dakota Wesleyan's Ady Dwight is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Dwight, a senior, from Langford, South Dakota, currently sits first in the GPAC in kills (249,) second in the NAIA, and leads the GPAC in kills per set (4.61), third best in the NAIA. On the week Dwight racked up 55 kills in 10 sets hitting .452. She was also a force at the net on defense with 10 total blocks.
Setter- Bree Burtwistle, Concordia University
Bree Burtwistle of Concordia is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Burtwistle, a senior from Stanton, Nebraska, notched 40 assists as second-ranked Concordia hit .342 and defeated ninth-ranked Midland in straight sets. Burtwistle added six digs and two kills in the victory. On the season, she is averaging 11.17 assists per set, fifth most among all NAIA players.
Defender – Ellie Holen, University of Jamestown (Defensive Specialist)
Jamestown defensive specialist Ellie Holen is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Holen, a senior from LaMoure, North Dakota, finished the week with 84 total digs in three wins for the Jimmies. She averaged 6.46 digs per set and also added five services aces.
