Week 11: Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played October 31-November 6, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Taliyah Flores, Midland University (Outside)
Taliyah Flores of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Flores, a senior, from Papillion, Nebraska, filled the stat sheet in wins over No. 5 Concordia on the road and the defeated Hastings at home in the first round of the GPAC Tournament. She tallied 34 kills (5.7/set) and hit .272 from her outside hitter position. Additionally, she added 24 digs (4.0/set) and recorded a pair of ace serves.
Setter- Hope Leimbach, Midland University
Hope Leimbach of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Leimback, a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, helped guide the Warriors to a pair of sweeps. She averaged 13.5 assists/set and took over the top spot in the NAIA for assists/set on the season (11.82). Additionally, she had 17 digs and 4 blocks this week, as well as five kills.
Defender – Ellie Holen, University of Jamestown (Defensive Specialist)
Ellie Holen of the University of Jamestown is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Holen, a junior from LaMoure, North Dakota, averaged 7.71 digs per set as No. 2 Jamestown won a pair of matches last week, including a sweep of No. 22 Dordt in the GPAC quarterfinals. Her 26 digs against Dordt gives her 669 for the season, moving her into fifth place on the Jimmies single-season list.
