Week 1: GPAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women’s outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held March 18-24, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Field Events – Abigail Gerber, Concordia University
Concordia University's Abigail Gerber is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Gerber, a junior from Columbus, Nebraska, qualified for nationals in the shot put with a mark of 45' 1.75" at the Bethel Invite. That mark currently ranks No. 1 in the GPAC and fifth nationally. Gerber won the shot put competition at the Bethel Invite and placed third in the discus and sixth in the hammer throw.
Track Events – Myia Johnson, Midland University
Midland University's Myia Johnson is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Johnson, a senior from Fremont, Nebraska, was the runner-up in the 5000m race at the Fort Hays State Spring Invite with a time of 21:19.60. She also competed in the 1500m race, placing 15th with a time of 5:22.54 as the outdoor season kicked off for the Warriors.
