Week 5: Women's Outdoor Track & Field Honors
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women's outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held April 17-23, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Field Events – Jessa Eden, Hastings College
Jessa Eden from Hastings College is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Eden, a senior, from Fairbury, Nebraska, took third at the Dutcher Memorial in the discus with a toss of 42.69m. She came back Saturday in the hammer with a career-best throw of 54.06m. That was an 'A' standard national qualifying throw and the best throw in the GPAC this season. It also ranks third in the NAIA. Additionally, it moves Jessa up to sixth best in school history.
Track Events – Jenna Esch, Concordia University
Jenna Esch of Concordia University is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Esch, a sophomore, from Hastings, Nebraska, clocked a personal best and automatic national qualifying standard of 56.74 in the 400 meters while placing third at the Dutcher Memorial. She also helped the 4x400 meter relay to an 'A' standard of 3:53.60 and an event title. Finally, Esch ran 26.24 in the 200 meters. Concordia currently has the GPAC's top 4x4. Esch ranks second in the GPAC and 18th nationally in the 400 meters.
