Field Events – Maggie Heesch, Midland University
Maggie Heesch from Midland University is this week's women's field athlete-of-the-week. Heesch, a senior from Watertown, South Dakota, had a pair of top five placing at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic to open the indoor season. She was fourth in the weight throw (16.76m) and fifth in the shot put (13.34m). She reached the NAIA "B" Standard in the weight throw.
Track Events – Eliza McKown, Waldorf University
Eliza McKown of Waldorf University is this week's women's track athlete-of-the-week. McKown, a sophomore, from Orono, Minnesota, broke the school record by nearly 14 seconds with a mile time of 5:22.83 at the SDSU Holiday Invite. She won the entire event for the meet and is currently ranked #15 in the NAIA for the event.
