Week 6: GPAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Women’s Soccer Players-of-the-Week for contests played September 25-October 1,, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Soccer Players-of-the-Week
Women's Offense – Karinna Tel, Dordt University (Forward)
Karinna Tel of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Tel, a sophomore from Puyallup, Washington, totaled eight points for the Defenders in wins over Dakota Wesleyan and Nebraska Wesleyan. Tel scored the Defenders first two goals and assisted on her team's third and fourth goals in the 5-3 victory against DWU. The next night, Tel scored the Defenders final goal in her team's 3-1 road win against Nebraska Wesleyan. Tel leads the Defenders with 20 points (8 goals, 4 assists).
Women's Defense – Tea Pence, University of Jamestown (Keeper)
Tea Pence of the University of Jamestown is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Pence, a sophomore from Hamilton, Ohio, allowed just one goal in two appearances for Jamestown last week. She played the first 74 minutes of Jamestown's 4-0 win at Northwestern, the second clean sheet posted by the Jimmies in their last three matches, and had a pair of saves.
