Week 4: GPAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Women’s Soccer Players-of-the-Week for contests played September 11-17, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Soccer Players-of-the-Week
Women's Offense – Hanna Schimmer, Midland University (Forward)
Hanna Schimmer of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Schimmer, a sophomore from Council Bluffs, Iowa, recorded her second hat trick of the season and accounted for every goal as Midland downed (RV) Jamestown on Thursday. Two days later, she added another goal win the Warriors' 4-0 win over Waldorf. For the week, she was able to challenge the opposing defenses with 17 shots of which 8 were on target (.471 shots on goal pct.).
Women's Defense – Rosa Schellmann, Midland University (Defender)
Rosa Schellmann of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Schellmann, a junior from Siegen, Germany, played a big role in the Warriors' backline as they blanked defending GPAC Champion Jamestown (2-0) and Waldorf (4-0). In Midland's set pieces, Schellman was able to serve up an assist on a corner and also found the back of the net herself.
