Week 6: Women's Soccer Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Women's Soccer Players-of-the-Week for contests played September 26-October 2, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Women's Offense – Avril Baccam, Dordt University (Midfielder)
Avril Baccam of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Baccam, a sophomore, from Little Elm, Texas, recorded a 12-point week in leading the Defenders to wins over Dakota Wesleyan and Bellevue. She scored a school-record six goals in her team's 8-1 win against Dakota Wesleyan, breaking the previous record of four. Baccam scored Dordt's first six goals, four in the first half, and now ranks second in the GPAC in both goals and points this season.
Women's Defense – Megan Messersmith, Morningside University (Goalkeeper)
Megan Messersmith of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Messersmith, senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, made 19 saves as the Mustangs played to a tie against Hastings and a 3-0 shutout of Doane. She reached double digits in saves in the match versus Hastings, turning the Broncos away 10 times.
