2023 GPAC Women's Golf Championship Starts Monday in Spencer
(Spencer, Iowa) – The 2023 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women's Golf Championships get underway on Monday, May 1, in Spencer, Iowa. The Spencer Country Club will host the 54 hole event over two days, with 36 holes on day one and 18 on day two.
Morningside is the defending GPAC champion after winning the 72-hole event in 2022. Dakota Wesleyan was second one year ago, with Briar Cliff placing third.
Individually, Sofia Castelan from Morningside claimed individual medalist honors in 2022 and returns to the field in 2023.
Play on Monday (May 1) will get under way at 8:00am.
The GPAC Women's Golf Champion receives an automatic berth in the NAIA Women's National Golf Championship in Silvis, Illinois, at TPC Deere Run. The NAIA National Women's Golf Championships are set for May 23-26, 2023. The GPAC medalist (if not on the qualifying team) also qualifies for the NAIA Championships.
