Week 13: GPAC Golfers of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfers-of-the-week for April 17-23, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Golfers-of-the-Week

Women – Sofia Castelan – Morningside University

Sofia Castelan of Morningside University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Golfer-of-the-Week. Castelan, a junior from Queretaro, Mexico, was the individual medalist shooting a 143 over two-rounds at the Defender Invite in Sioux Center, Iowa. As a team the Mustangs placed sixth.

Men – Philip Mangset – Morningside University
Philip Mangset of Morningside University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Golfer-of-the-Week. Mangset, a freshman from Lommendalen, Norway, carded a two-round total of 137 at the Raider Invitational last week. His score was good for the individual title in a very competitive field. As a team, the Mustangs turned in a team total of 569, good enough for tie for first place with Doane.
