Week 5: Golfers of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfers-of-the-week for October 3-9, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Golfers-of-the-Week

Women – Helene Getz Bergmo, Briar Cliff University
Helene Getz Bergmo of Briar Cliff University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Golfer-of-the-Week. Getz Bergmo, a sophomore from Moelv, Norway, led the Chargers to a first-place finish at the Iowa Lakes Invite in Arnold's Park, Iowa. Bergmo took first place at the meet and was the lone golfer to shoot sub-80 with a score of 77. After a front-nine mark of 40, she shaved three strokes off on the back-nine.

Men – Jackson Sitzmann, Morningside University
Jackson Sitzmann of Morningside University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Golfer-of-the-Week. Sitzmann, a senior from Sioux City, Iowa, shot a 156 (79-77), good for a tie for 15th place at the Holy Cross College Invitational at Notre Dame's Warren Golf Course. The Mustangs placed fourth in the event, with a two-round total of 630.
