Week 3: Golfers of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfers-of-the-week for September 19-25, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Golfers-of-the-Week

Women – Sofia Castelan, Morningside University
Sofia Castelan of Morningside University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Golfer-of-the-Week. Castelan, a junior from Queretaro, Mexico, had a pair of top-ten finishes last week, including a runner-up performance at the Nebraska Wesleyan Fall Invitational. She shot a two-round total of 152 with individual rounds of 75 and 77. It marks her fourth top-five finish of the fall.

Men – Jackson Sitzmann, Morningside University
Jackson Sitzmann of Morningside University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Golfer-of-the-Week. Sitzmann, a senior from Sioux City, Iowa, competed at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational. He carded a three-round total of 217 (69-72-76) during the two-day event finishing in a tie for sixth overall.
