Week 2: Golfers of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfers-of-the-week for September 12-18, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Golfers-of-the-Week

Women – Sofia Castelan, Morningside University
Sofia Castelan of Morningside University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Golfer-of-the-Week. Castelan, a junior from Queretaro, Mexico, tied for first place overall at the Lila Frommelt Invitational last week. She shot a two-round total of 150 with individual rounds of 74 and 76. As a team the Mustangs finished fourth overall.

Men – Brock Murphy, Northwestern College
Brock Murphy of Northwestern College is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Golfer-of-the-Week. Murphy, a senior from Tea, South Dakota, shot the outstanding score of -5 (66), on day two of the Siouxland Invite, marking his second lowest round as a Raider. Murphy's round of 66 (-5) at Landsmeer sits tied-for-fourth in program history. He shot a three-round total of 212 (72-74-66) to help the Raiders to the second-place finish.
