Week 8: GPAC Golfers of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfers-of-the-week for April 11-17, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2021-2022 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Golfers-of-the-Week

Women – Kendra Placke, Concordia University
Kendra Placke of Concordia University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Golfer-of-the-Week. Placke, a junior from Seward, Nebraska, claimed a second-straight tournament championship while winning the individual Hastings Invitational championship at the two-day event (April 11-12). Placke shot an 82 on Tuesday and nearly led to a team title at Lochland Country Club. She shot a two-day score of 77-82–159 (+10) at the Hastings Invite for medalist honors.

Men – Sam Storey, Morningside University
Sam Storey of Morningside University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Golfer-of-the-Week. Storey, a senior from Surrey, England, finished second at the Northwestern Red Raider cup. His 66 left him only one shot behind medalist Thomas Craig of Iowa Western Community College. He led four Morningside golfers who all finished in the top six and set a new 18-hole team score school record.
