Week 9: GPAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women's basketball players-of-the-week for contests played December 23-29, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Offensive – Megan Chambers, Doane University (Forward)

Megan Chambers of Doane University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball offensive player-of-the-week.  Chambers, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, scored a career-high 27 points and pulled down seven rebounds in Doane's two-point loss to No. 22 Mayville State. She was 11-of-15 from the floor in the game and is shooting 58.4-percent from the floor on the season.

Defensive – Grace Thompson, Doane University (Guard)

Grace Thompson of Doane University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball defensive player-of-the-week.  Thompson, a sophomore from Omaha, Nebraska, tied for the team lead in steals against NAIA No. 22 Mayville State with two. One of her steals came in the final five seconds of the third quarter that she turned into a layup to beat the buzzer to give the Tigers momentum heading into the final quarter. She added four defensive rebounds in the game and had a blocked shot.
