Week 7: GPAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women's basketball players-of-the-week for contests played December 9-15, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Players-of-the-Week

Offensive – Molly Schany, Northwestern College (Forward)

Molly Schany of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball offensive player-of-the-week.  Schany, a senior from Emmetsburg, Iowa, had another week of averaging a double-double. Last week she went for 20.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per contest in a pair of wins. On Wednesday, she had 21 points and 15 boards, picking up eight offensive rebounds. In Saturday's home win, had her eighth double-double of the year with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Defensive – Kennedy Benne, Briar Cliff University (Guard)

Kennedy Benne of Briar Cliff University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball defensive player-of-the-week.  Benne, a senior from Oakland, Nebraska, recorded nine steals and seven defensive rebounds and a blocked shot last week. Against College of Saint Mary, she recorded eight steals in the contest alone. She also chipped in with 14.5 points per game.
