Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Players-of-the-Week
Offensive – Mak Hatcliff, Doane University (Guard)
Mak Hatcliff of Doane University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball offensive player-of-the-week. Hatcliff, a senior from Beatrice, Nebraska, helped the Tigers to a pair of wins on the week including a victory over NAIA No. 11 Dakota Wesleyan. She averaged a double-double on the week with 27.0 points and 10 rebounds. She played a key role in Doane's two big runs in the upset of Dakota Wesleyan, a 12-2 run to end the first half and a 13-0 run to start the fourth quarter, scoring seven points in each of the runs.
Defensive – Mariyah Avila, Hastings College (Guard)
Mariyah Avila of Hastings College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball defensive player-of-the-week. Avila, a junior from Scottsbluff, Nebraska, filled the stat sheet with terrific defensive numbers in a pair of wins. In 41 minutes, she had seven rebounds and two steals in an overtime win at Bellevue. She also had seven boards and four steals against Waldorf. For the week she averaged 8.5 points, 7 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 3 steals.
