Northwestern and Midland Advance to Final in GPAC Softball Tournament

(Sioux City, Iowa) – Top seed Northwestern and two seed Midland each won their individual brackets on Thursday to advance to the Championship Series in the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Softball Tournament.   The brackets were played at the American State Bank Sports Complex in Sioux Center, Iowa.

In the Northwestern Bracket, five seed Morningside won an elimination game over eight seed Mount Marty 6-4.  In the championship game number one of the bracket top seeded Northwestern was a 3-2 winner over Morningside to win the pod going 3-0.

In the Midland Bracket, three seed Dordt won an elimination game over six seed Jamestown 12-11.   In the championship game number one of the bracket two seed Northwestern was a 8-0 winner over Dordt in 6 innings to win the pod going 3-0.

Northwestern and Midland have now secured the league's berths to the NAIA Opening Round.

Saturday's GPAC Championship Series (best of three) between Northwestern and Midland location and times are to be determined.  A final determination on a site and times will be made by Friday.
