Week 7: Softball Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the softball player and pitcher-of-the-week for contests played April 3-9, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Softball Weekly Honors

Pitcher – Aliyah Rincon, Midland University

Aliyah Rincon of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Rincon, a junior from Granada Hills, California, picked up her second no-hitter of the season as the Warriors won 7-0 at Concordia on Friday. She was nearly perfect in the circle with 15 strikeouts and no walks. The only Bulldog to reach base came via an error in the 6th innings. At the plate, Rincon went 2-for-3 in game two of the doubleheader with a three-run home run as Midland won 8-1.

Player – Carly Pfitzer, Midland University (Infielder)

Carly Pfitzer of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports softball player-of-the-week. Pfitzer, a senior from Gretna, Nebraska, was instrumental in Midland earning a road sweep at Concordia this week. She had RBIs in each of the two games, including a two-run home run in game one. In the second game, she reached base all four times, going 1-for-1 with a double and drawing 3 walks.
