2024 GPAC Cross Country Championships Saturday
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Cross Country Championships, slated for November 9, 2024, will take place at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Nebraska. 12 women's teams and 11 men's teams, including several top-rated teams in the NAIA, are set to compete on Saturday.
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Cross Country Championships, slated for November 9, 2024, will take place at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Nebraska. 12 women's teams and 11 men's teams, including several top-rated teams in the NAIA, are set to compete on Saturday. The 2024 GPAC Cross Country Championships are Powered by Two West Advisors.
The day will begin with the GPAC Women's 6K race at 10:45 AM, followed by the GPAC Men's 8K race at 11:30 AM.
The Dordt University women's and men's teams are the defending champions from the 2023 event held at Adams Nature Preserve in McCook Lake, South Dakota.
The Dordt women enter Championship Saturday ranked #8 in the NAIA, while the Dordt men are ranked 12th. The Doane and the College of Saint Women are both receiving votes in the NAIA poll. The Doane men are ranked #22 and the Concordia men are receiving votes from the NAIA.
Individually, there will be a new women's champion in 2024 as Dordt's Jessica (Kampman) Walczyk has graduated after a winning time of 21:30.1 last fall, on the men's side senior Aidan Vorster from Dordt returns to the field after a winning 8K time of 24:52.6 one year ago.
Spectators will need to purchase a park pass in advance from Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for entrance to Mahoney State Park. Passes are $7 for in-state visitors and $14 for those coming from out-of-state.

Following the culmination of the men's race, an awards ceremony will take place to recognize the team champions and top-15 runners in each race.
