Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the Week
Women – Corinne Braun, Dordt University
Corinne Braun of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Braun, a freshman from Canton, South Dakota, helped lead the 8th-ranked Defenders to the team title at the Wildcat Classic, a meet hosted by Wayne State College and held at the Wayne Country Club. Braun won the 6K race with a time of 23:05, 10 seconds faster than her teammate Jessica Opfer. Braun has won both meets she competed in this season and this was the first 6K of her collegiate career.
Men – Joseph Cross, Mount Marty University
Joseph Cross of Mount Marty University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Cross, a freshman from Jefferson, South Dakota, won the men's 8k race at the Wildcat Classic hosted by Wayne State College in a time of 26:33.69. En route to his first-place finish, Cross set a new Mount Marty school and freshman record for the course.
