Tyson Beauperthuy, Doane University – 184lb Weight Class
Doane University wrestler Tyson Beauperthuy is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Wrestler-of-the-Week. Beauperthuy, a junior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, took down NAIA No. 25 Branson Bottorff with a 19-4 tech fall victory in his lone match of the week. Doane won the dual with the Statesmen, who are receiving votes in the NAIA poll, 47-5.
WOMEN
Cristelle Rodriguez, Doane University – 124b Weight Class
Doane University wrestler Cristelle Rodriguez is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Wrestler-of-the-Week. Rodriguez, a junior from Clovis, California, helped Doane in their 48-0 win over NAIA No. 6 William Penn as she pinned No. 3 Joanna Vanderwood. Rodriguez, ranked No. 1 at 124, built a 9-0 lead before landing one last takedown that would result in a pin of Vanderwood. The team victory was No. 12 Doane's first Top 10 victory in program history as well as their first team shutout.
