MEN
Koen Mattern, Hastings College – 285lb Weight Class
Hastings College wrestler Koen Mattern is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Wrestler-of-the-Week. Mattern, a freshman from Lake Stevens, Washington, pinned his Marian opponent less than three minutes into his opening match, and then had a 10-2 major decision over Mason Garcia of Concordia. He lost on a close 4-3 decision in the third round to Braden Morgan of Friends. Mattern rebounded on Saturday in the consolation bracket with wins over Jayden Joseph of Missouri Valley and Seth Suvak of Dickinson State before defeating 18th-ranked Randy Gonzalez of Missouri Valley. He also defeated 20th-ranked Eli Criblez of Doane and 14th-ranked Shane Mattson of Montana State-Northern. He was 7-2 at the meet, good for fifth place.
WOMEN
Brooke Schilke, Hastings College – 160lb Weight Class
Hastings College wrestler Brooke Schilke is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Wrestler-of-the-Week. Schilke, a freshman from Imperial, Nebraska, opened the Women's Warrior Invite with two tech fall wins over wrestlers from Manchester and Baldwin-Wallace. She continued her dominance in the quarterfinals with a late pin over Emily Gervais of the Purdue Wrestling Club. She also added a pin at the 4:19 mark to defeat William Penn's Kylee Eastwood in the semifinal. She ran into 18th-ranked Alexa Wolf of William Penn in the championship match, losing on a 4-2 decision to conclude the day at 4-1.
