Week 2: GPAC Wrestler of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following wrestler-of-the-week for contests played November 20-26, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Nathan Rizek, Doane University – 133lb Weight Class

Doane University wrestler Nathan Rizek is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week.  Rizek, a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, went 2-0 individually at the GPAC Duals to help Doane pick up a pair of dual victories over Northwestern and Briar Cliff. In the first match, he pinned Jonny Burnette in 26 seconds. The pin is the fastest in program history at 133. In his second match, he took on NAIA No. 3 CaRon Watson. Watson got out to an early lead but Rizek was able to pin Watson in the third period for the win.
