Week 9: GPAC Men's Volleyball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Men’s Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played April 1-7, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Caydann Cox, University of Jamestown (Opposite/Outside)
Caydann Cox of the University of Jamestown is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Cox, a freshman, from Jamestown, North Dakota, helped the Jimmies to a pair of sweeps on the week. He hit .410 with 28 kills for the Jimmies to go along with 10 digs and five blocks.
Setter- Lukas Van Groningen, Dordt University
Lukas Van Groningen from Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Van Groningen, a junior from Ripon, California, became Dordt's all-time assist leader in a pair of wins over Ottawa and Morningside. He had a total of 92 assists the victories and also had 16 digs, six total blocks and three service aces.
Defender – Robert Piekarz, Dordt University (Defensive Specialist)
Robert Piekarz of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Piekarz, a junior from Warsaw, Poland, had 30 digs for the Defenders in a pair of wins over Ottawa and Morningside. He had just two errors in 37 attempts receiving and also had two assists.
