Week 8: GPAC Men's Volleyball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Men’s Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played March 25-31, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Tomasz Swiderski, University of Jamestown (Opposite/Outside)
Tomasz Swiderski of the University of Jamestown is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Swiderski, a freshman, from Kedzierzyn-Kozle, Poland, helped the Jimmies to a sweep of Dordt on the week. He hit .344 with 15 kills in the victory. He also added six digs, three blocks and an ace serve.
Setter- Gaven Hackley, University of Jamestown
Gaven Hackley from the University of Jamestown is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Hackley, a freshman from Castle Rock, Colorado, had a career-high 36 assists in Jamestown's sweep of Dordt last week. He recorded over 30 assists for the third time this season and second straight match. Hackley also had five total blocks and four digs on defense.
Defender – Isaiah Baynes, Morningside University (Defensive Specialist)
Isaiah Baynes of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Baynes, a junior from Mankato, Minnesota, had 17 digs for the Mustangs in a five-set win over Kansas Wesleyan. He was perfect in 28 tries receiving, will also adding 14 kills and 2 blocks for Morningside.
