Field Events – Trey Dickey, Doane University
Trey Dickey from Doane University is this week's men's field athlete-of-the-week. Dickey, a senior from Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, won the discus on Friday at the Central Nebraska Challenge, hitting a throw of 54.58m (179-01) and moving into second on the NAIA national chart. His throw is the fourth-best in program history. In the hammer throw, Dickey added a mark of 56.16m (184-03) to move into third on the NAIA national chart. The throw was the sixth-best in program history.
Track Events – Zach Turner, Doane University
Zach Turner of Doane University is this week's men's track athlete-of-the-week. Turner, a Senior from Crete, Nebraska, posted the fastest time in the NAIA in the 400m hurdles on a windy day in Kearney on Friday. He is the only athlete with an "A" standard through the first few weeks of the outdoor season and his mark is the second-fastest in program history. Turner broke the school record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.49, although his time does not qualify for the NAIA leaderboard as he had 7.6 wind reading for his run, too strong to allow the mark on the NAIA list.
