Week 5: GPAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men’s outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held April 15-21, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Field Events – Matthew Boyer, Concordia University
Concordia University's Matthew Boyer is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Boyer, a sophomore from Jefferson City, Missouri, broke the Concordia program record in the javelin that had stood since 1986. Boyer threw the javelin 219' 1" while moving up to No. 5 in the NAIA (first in the GPAC) in the event. Boyer also threw the discus 144' 7" at the Dutcher Classic.
Track Events – Thomas Oliver, Doane University
Doane University's Thomas Oliver is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Oliver, a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, ran the fastest time in the GPAC and fifth-fastest in the NAIA this season with a time of 9:12.19 at the Kansas Relays. His time was a personal best and second-fastest in Doane history.
