Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week
Field Events – Zach Zohner, Concordia University
Concordia University's Zach Zohner is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Zohner, a senior from Battle Creek, Nebraska, recorded an outdoor personal best in the pole vault while clearing an NAIA leading 17 feet at the USD Challenge. Zohner placed behind only NCAA Division I athletes in the competition. He is the fifth Bulldog in program history to reach 17 feet in the outdoor pole vault.
Track Events – Joaquin Gutierrez, Doane University
Doane University's Joaquin Gutierrez is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Gutierrez, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, posted the 16th-fastest time in the NAIA this year in the 400m with a winning time of 47.73. He also ran the lead leg of the 4x400m relay, helping the Tigers to a NAIA qualifying time of 3:15.00, ranking 12th nationally.
