Week 2: GPAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week
Field Events – Robert Atwater, Midland University
Midland University's Robert Atwater is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Atwater, a junior from Detroit, Michigan, won three events and reached two NAIA 'A' Standards at the Wayne State Wildcat Classic. He won the pole vault with a height of 4.55m, the long jump with a leap of 7.52m, and the triple jump with a distance of 14.10m. Additionally, he was tied for the top spot with his teammates in the high jump at 2.06m but ultimately placed third after leaving early to finish competing in his other events, as he had reached the NAIA 'A' Standard.
Track Events – Payton Mauldin, Dordt University
Dordt University's Payton Mauldin is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Mauldin, a senior from George, Iowa, hit the 'A' standard in two events at the Wayne State Wildcat Classic, winning the 400m with a school-record and meet record time of 46.69. His time is the No.1 time in the NAIA. Mauldin was also part of a Defenders 4x100 relay that took first and hit the NAIA 'A' standard with a time of 40.96, 10th fastest in the NAIA. Mauldin also recorded a second-place finish in the 200m (22.08).
