Week 1: GPAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men’s outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held March 18-24, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Field Events – Robert Atwater, Midland University
Midland University's Robert Atwater is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Atwater, a junior from Detroit, Michigan, had a strong start to the outdoor season at the Fort Hays State Spring Invite on Friday. He placed 6th in the pole vault with a height of 4.53m, reached the NAIA 'B' Standard with a runner-up placing in the high jump, clearing 2.02m, and won the long jump with an NAIA 'A' Standard distance of 7.59m. His mark in the long jump also set a new Midland school record in the event. He now holds the indoor and outdoor records in the event.
Track Events – Henri Stoeckermann, Midland University
Midland University's Henri Stoeckermann is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Stoeckermann, a junior from Herrenberg, Germany, placed fourth at the Fort Hays State Spring Invite in the 800m. He turned in a time of 1:56.56, which is the top time in the GPAC by two seconds so far, and is less than four seconds off the NAIA 'B' Standard in his first outing.
