Week 3: GPAC Men's Indoor T&F Athletes of the Week

Field Events – Zach Zohner, Concordia University
Concordia University's Zach Zohner is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Zohner, a junior, from Battle Creek, Nebraska, won the pole vault competition at Concordia's Polar Dog Invite with a personal best mark of 16ft 8.75in. That figure ranks second in the NAIA (first in the GPAC). Zohner turned in 2023 national pole vault place finishes of second for indoor and third for outdoor.
Track Events – Payton Mauldin, Dordt University
Dordt University's Payton Mauldin is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Mauldin, a senior, from George, Iowa, hit the 'A' standard in two events at the Jim Emmerich Invite last weekend in Brookings South Dakota. Running against NCAA D-I and D-II competition, Mauldin finished second to an unattached runner in the 800m with a time of 1:51.03, a time that is the second fastest in the NAIA this season trailing only his own time from December. Mauldin followed with a 46.3 split while running the anchor leg in the 4x400 relay that finished with the top time in the NAIA to date.
