Week 1: GPAC Men's Indoor T&F Athletes of the Week

Field Events – Andrew Schmitz, Doane University
Andrew Schmitz from Doane University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Schmitz, a sophomore from Papillion, Nebraska, reached a personal best in the weight throw with a mark of 18.01m (59-01.25) and moved to seventh on the NAIA chart for this season. He had the top throw to win the Ward Haylett Invite. Schmitz added a third-place finish in the shot put.
Track Events – Zach Turner, Doane University
Doane University's Zach Turner is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Turner, a senior, from Crete, Nebraska, hit the NAIA "A" standard time in both the prelims and the finals of the 60m hurdles, with his top time of 8.10 winning the race. He is currently tied for first nationally with a time of 8.02 set in December. He also was on the 4x400m relay team that took first place at the Ward Haylett Invite.
