Week 6: Men's Indoor Track & Field Honors
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men's indoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held January 30-February 5, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week
Field Events – Dylan Kucera, Midland University
Dylan Kucera from Midland University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Kucera, a senior from Fremont, Nebraska, won both throwing events at the DWU Alumni Meet on Saturday. He set a new season-best in both events, reaching 19.83m in the weight throw and 18.68m in the shot put. He is now ranked second nationally in the weight throw and first in the shot put among NAIA athletes.
Track Events – Calvin Rohde, Concordia University
Concordia University's Calvin Rohde is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Rohde, a sophomore, from Reed City, Michigan, turned in two personal best times that met the automatic national qualifying standard in both the 1,000 meters and the mile. His converted time of 2:27.16 in the 1,000 meters ranks No. 1 in the GPAC and No. 4 nationally. In the mile, Rohde ranks second in the GPAC and 12th nationally.
