Week 5: Men's Indoor Track & Field Honors
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men's indoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held January 23-29, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Field Events – Matthew Campbell, Doane University
Matthew Campbell from Doane University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Campbell, a senior from Ainsworth, Nebraska, improved his NAIA-leading mark in the weight throw with a season-best throw of 20.21m (66-03.75) enroute to the Beile Classic championship. He took second place with a season-best in the shot put as well with a mark of 15.52m (50-11) to improve on his provisional standard to No. 17 in the NAIA.
Track Events – Calvin Rohde, Concordia University
Concordia University's Calvin Rohde is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Rohde, a sophomore, from Reed City, Michigan, clocked another automatic national qualifying standard by running the mile in a first-place time of 4:16.10 at the Beile Classic. His converted time of 4:12.88 (A standard) ranks No. 1 in the GPAC and 11th nationally. Rohde is also qualified for nationals this season in the 1,000 meters and as part of Concordia's distance medley relay.
