Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Tennis Weekly Honors
Women's Tennis – Mariana Molano, Concordia University
Mariana Molano of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Molano, a junior from Bogota, Colombia, went 3-0 at both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles spots this past weekend while helping the Bulldogs to three 7-0 team wins over NAIA opponents. In her three singles matches, Molano dominated, dropping only four combined games. On the season, Molano is 8-3 in singles and 5-2 in doubles play. Concordia has won nine-straight matches, the best start in program history.
Men's Tennis – Nick Velders, Concordia University
Nick Velders of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Velders, junior from The Netherlands, helped the Bulldogs to a 3-0 week that included wins over Kansas Wesleyan, Avila and Mount Marty. Velders went a combined 3-0 at No. 2 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles. Velders improved his season records to 13-1 in singles and 8-4 in doubles. He is ranked as the No. 45 singles player in the NAIA.
