Women's Tennis – Chakira Derman, Concordia University
Chakira Derman of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Derman, sophomore from Togo, Africa, led Concordia to road wins over Friends (Kan.) and Bethany (Kan.) this past weekend. Derman went 2-0 at No. 2 singles and won a match at No. 2 doubles as part of those outings. Derman also won a singles match in a non-countable team win over a JUCO. Her season singles record stands at 6-2 (3-2 in doubles).
Men's Tennis – Mathys Arnold, Morningside University
Mathys Arnold of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Arnold, a freshman from Charmey, Switzerland, went undefeated in singles play on the week, including a come from behind marathon win over NCAA Division II opponent Maxence Hamon by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 12-10. He was also 3-1 in doubles play.
