Week 6: GPAC Tennis Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following tennis players-of-the-week for April 10-16, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Tennis Weekly Honors

Women's Tennis – Renee Acena, College of Saint Mary
Renee Acena of the College of Saint Mary is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Acena, a junior from Dubai, won all four of her singles matches this week. She and Carolyna Truong won three of four doubles matches this week. Acena is a perfect 12-0 on the season at No. 1 singles in countable matches.

Men's Tennis – Benjamin Starman, Midland University
Benjamin Starman of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Starman, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, was unbeaten this week as the Warriors blanked a pair of conference foes. He won in straight sets in both of his No. 2 singles matches and won both of his No. 1 doubles matches alongside Joren Stevens. This season, he has a 12-5 record in singles play, including a stellar 10-1 mark at No. 2.
