Week 2: GPAC Tennis Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following tennis players-of-the-week for March 13-19, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Tennis Weekly Honors

Women's Tennis – Lidia Suarez, Morningside University
Lidia Suarez of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Suarez, a freshman from Caracas, Venezuela, went 2-0 in both singles and doubles while up Wartburg and Northwestern (MN). She played at the No. 4 spot in singles and No. 3 spot in doubles. She moved her records to 9-0 in singles on the season and 5-4 in doubles.

Men's Tennis – Mark Trenkle, Morningside University
Mark Trenkle of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Trenkle, a sophomore from Lahr, Germany, went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 1-1 at No. 1 doubles while helping Morningside to a pair of team wins over Wartburg and Northwestern (MN). Trenkle is 14-2 on the season in singles play and 7-6 in doubles
