Week 1: GPAC Tennis Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following tennis players-of-the-week for March 6-12, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Tennis Weekly Honors

Women's Tennis – Mariana Molano, Concordia University
Mariana Molano of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Molano, a freshman from Bogota, Columbia, went 2-0 in both singles and doubles while up against Kansas Wesleyan and Bethany College. Molano played at the No. 1 spot in singles and doubles. She moved her records to 6-4 in singles and 4-2 in doubles on the season.

Men's Tennis – Hugo Fuentes, Concordia University
Hugo Fuentes of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Fuentes, a freshman from Denia, Spain, went 2-0 at No. 2 singles and 1-1 at No. 2 doubles while helping Concordia to team victories over Bethany and Kansas Wesleyan. Fuentes' lone loss was a 7-5 decision in doubles. On the season, Fuentes is 5-4 in singles and 2-8 in doubles.
