Week 3: GPAC Tennis Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following tennis players-of-the-week for contests played March 28-April 3, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2021-22 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Tennis Weekly Honors

Women's Tennis – Ava Macke, Doane University

Ava Macke of Doane University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Macke, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, moved up to No. 1 singles (has typically played No. 2 or No. 3) this week due to an injury and picked up wins in both of her matches. She also won both matches at No. 1 doubles as she teamed with Liz van der Torre.

Men's Tennis – Miguel Abete, Midland University

Miguel Abete of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Abete, a senior from Pamplona, Spain, won both No. 1 singles matches this week as well as both doubles matches (with a new partner). This season, he is 12-4 individually and ranks 11th in the most recent ITA Central Region rankings.
