Week 1: GPAC Tennis Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following tennis players-of-the-week for contests played March 14-20, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2021-22 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Tennis Weekly Honors
Women's Tennis – Ari Lumanog, Midland University
Ari Lumanog of Midland is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Lumanog, a junior from Albuquerque, New Mexico, helped guide the Warriors to an upset over No. 17 William Woods on Sunday. Ranked 16th individually by the ITA, Lumanog defeated 15th-ranked Calvo Larraz in straight sets. This season, she is 12-4 individually.
Men's Tennis – Jorge Chevez, Doane University
Jorge Chevez of Doane is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Chevez, a senior from Panama City, Panama, went 2-0 in singles play on the week to move his career win total to 39 in singles play. That is the second most at Doane since the program restarted in 1992.
