Week 8: GPAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Men's Soccer Players-of-the-Week for contests played October 7-13, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Men's Offense – Joe Vokins, Hastings College (Midfield)

Joe Vokins of Hastings College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Vokins, a senior from Toronto, Canada, assisted on both game-winning goals in pair of wins. In a 4-3 win at Mount Marty his assist came in the 86th minute to seal the win. In their 8-0 win against Waldorf, Vokins' assist put the Broncos on the board, then he scored a goal to open the second half. He finished the week with one goal, three assists, and two game-winning assists.

Men's Defense – Rick Lammerts, Northwestern College (Keeper)

Rick Lammerts of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Lammerts, a sophomore from Gemert, Netherlands, notched a pair of clean sheets on the week, collecting 10 saves in a 2-0 slate. In a win over Briar Cliff he turned the Chargers away seven times.
