Week 5: GPAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Men's Soccer Players-of-the-Week for contests played September 16-22, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Men's Offense – Bennet Wesselkaemper, Morningside University (Midfield)

Bennet Wesselkaemper of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Wesselkaemper, a senior from Neuenkirchen, Germany, had a pair of game-winning goals this week, scoring twice in the week's conference matches. He was efficient in his opportunities, converting eighty percent of the time.

Men's Defense – Michael Wyvill, Concordia University (Defender)

Michael Wyvill of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Wyvill, a sophomore from Lincoln, Nebraska, helped limit Concordia's two opponents to a single goal (21 combined shots) as the Bulldogs went 1-0-1 in the opening week of conference play. A starting center back, Wyvill also scored the team's lone goal (on a set piece) in the 1-1 draw at Dordt. Wyvill has totaled three goals on the season.
